About Us
Afghanistan Capacity Development and Educational Organization (ACDEO) is a national NGO registered with Afghanistan’s Ministry of Economy and Ministry of Women Affairs. Established in late 2012, ACDEO is committed to the development of Afghanistan and aims to help the country’s most vulnerable individuals by improving social welfare and promoting a better quality of life for Afghans and their families within Islam and within Afghanistan’s constitution ACDEO gives women and children the opportunity to access justice, counselling, and education.

What We Have Done
Education
• Since 2013, ACDEO’s Family Support Helpline has provided informed advice on concerns around education for families throughout Afghanistan.
• ACDEO has conducted awareness -building for Afghan students on the causes of Gender-Based Violence and how to deal with it in Balkh, Bamyan, Herat, Kabul and Panjshir provinces.
• ACDEO has conducted reviews of safeguarding policies and infrastructure safety for three tertiary-level technical schools.
Economic Empowerment
• Supported sales of Aayenda Jewellery in the US and UK through a partnership with Future Brilliance.
• Supported the involvement of international designers in the design and making of rugs for the UK market.
Health and Nutrition
• Since 2013, ACDEO has provided family and psychosocial counselling through the 6464 Family Support Helpline.
• ACDEO’s team has also supported WHO Afghanistan in developing messages to build public awareness and understanding on COVID-19 prevention measures.
• ACDEO operates a Health Information Helpline (166), providing general health information with an emphasis on maternal and child health. The helpline answered over 500,000 calls.
Gender-Based Violence
• Supported GBV victims and survivors, providing legal advice and psychosocial support to more than 100,000 callers.
• Delivered psychosocial support to more than 100,000 callers.
• Conducted awareness campaigns on women and girls’ rights in communities and educational institutions throughout Afghanistan.
